The Cathedral of Mantua has an ancient history: some chronicles trace its foundation back to 313 A.D.
While the Cathedral of Mantua is dedicated to St. Peter the Apostle, the church houses the incorrupt body of St. Anselm, the bishop of Lucca and patron of the city and diocese, who lived in the 11th century.

The Piazzale Castel San Pietro is an ancient fortress built atop the ruins of a viscount’s castle. It was built by Giangaleazzo Visconti in 1398 and was originally joined to the continuous wall around the Socorro. It sits on top of a hill that provides an excellent panoramic view of the city, especially when the sun is going down. Some of the buildings you will see from the San Pietro include the Santa Sofia, San Leonardo, and the San Mattia Castles.

I don’t know how to ride a bicycle
So you grabbed a bike and showed me how
But I didn’t quite understand how you did it
So you let me ride it while holding the backside
I pedalled slowly at first, then gradually faster
Until the breeze hit my face
At last, I thought, I learned how to ride it
I looked behind and saw the view
You’re not holding me anymore, you’re faraway from me,
You’re gone.

Paralyzed by inertia he found himself looking
At the outside through the eyes of a window
The voices on the TV chattered aimlessly on
Trying their best to remove him from reality
In a never ending stream of broken stories
Filled with commercials and trailers
Whose only mission was to gain his attention
Slowly he turned away and sat facing the tube
While the birds gathered on the windowsill
Looking at his world through the eyes of a window

You’ll find vineyards and olive groves in Bardolino, as well as beaches on beautiful Lake Garda. This town isn’t as popular as other area resort towns, so you shouldn’t find huge crowds here (except perhaps during the local olive oil and wine festival in late September and October). If you’re traveling with kids, make a beeline for the Gardaland and Aqua Paradise amusement parks.
