The Piazzale Castel San Pietro is an ancient fortress built atop the ruins of a viscount’s castle. It was built by Giangaleazzo Visconti in 1398 and was originally joined to the continuous wall around the Socorro. It sits on top of a hill that provides an excellent panoramic view of the city, especially when the sun is going down. Some of the buildings you will see from the San Pietro include the Santa Sofia, San Leonardo, and the San Mattia Castles.

Bolzano is a city in the South Tyrol province of north Italy, set in a valley amid hilly vineyards. It’s a gateway to the Dolomites mountain range in the Italian Alps. In the medieval city center, the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology features the Neolithic mummy called Ötzi the Iceman. Nearby is the imposing 13th-century Mareccio Castle, and the Duomo di Bolzano cathedral with its Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

Bardolino is a municipality in the Province of Verona in the Italian region Veneto, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) west of Venice and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of Verona.
Located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, Bardolino borders the following municipalities: Affi, Cavaion Veronese, Costermano, Garda, Lazise, Manerba del Garda, Moniga del Garda, Padenghe sul Garda, and Pastrengo. The economy is mostly based on tourism and production of wine (including the Bardolino DOC)

You’ll find vineyards and olive groves in Bardolino, as well as beaches on beautiful Lake Garda. This town isn’t as popular as other area resort towns, so you shouldn’t find huge crowds here (except perhaps during the local olive oil and wine festival in late September and October). If you’re traveling with kids, make a beeline for the Gardaland and Aqua Paradise amusement parks.
